Rusty Drum! The coating that covers the drum of my dryer apears to have worn away and now has started to rust. The dryer is less than 2 years old and all clothes now become covered with rust stains. Can anything be done or is the dryer dead?

Hello, I have the same problem. My dryer was purchased at Sears in Ottawa and the replacement cost for the part required is $137.99 but turns out it is covered by a manufacturer's warranty for 15 years but does not cover labour. I am going ahead with the repair since it's better than spending time removing rust stains from your clothes. Hope this helps....Good Luck
Change the drum, Talk to a repair man maybe he has a good used one--Surely it would be less expensive than buying a new dryer. My husband has made a few inexpensive repairs to mine and says there is not much to a dryer. If it is only one spot I would definately paint it--my 25 year old one has this and that's what I intend to do. Even if I have to do it once a year because the dryer works good.
